Wanda Ellis

Wanda Ellis, 74, of Fairfield passed away at 5:33PM on April 29, 2023, in the skilled care unit at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  She had worked at Champion Laboratory in West Salem IL as well as wallpapering for individuals and businesses.  Wanda was born May 19, 1948, in Ellery to Everett and Nellie (Tidball) Mann.  She married Gary Ellis on December 29, 1967, and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2021.

Wanda enjoyed baking, sewing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.  She was especially known for always trying new recipes and sharing her baked goods with others.  Wanda was a member of West Salem Zion Church.

Wanda is survived by children Brett (Lori) Ellis of Bridgeport and Michelle (David Kent) Fields of Fairfield; grandchildren- Tyler Fields of Fairfield and Faith (Christian) Cullison of Ellery; sisters- Linda (the late Jim) Scheer of Sullivan IL, Clara Long of Lakeland FL, and Etta Rae Koskovich of Phoenix AZ; brother Kenneth (Millie) Mann of Albion; sisters in law- Ruth (Delbert) Burkett of Ellery, Kay (Ray) Huff of Creal Springs, and Brenda Watson of Fairfield; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Anita West and Juanita Reiger, brothers Richard, Lowell and Thomas Mann.

Funeral services will be held at 12PM Thursday at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made at the funeral home to the Skilled Care Unit Appreciation Fund.  Any donations will be used for special meals, afternoon snacks, or in ways to show the staff how much they are appreciated.
