Thomas Smith Obituary

Thomas “Tom” Smith, 72 of Fairfield, passed away at 5:50 AM, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. Born in Fairfield on May 26, 1951, to Henry Clint and Joyce (Cushman) Smith, in early years he worked for Jerry Friend Oil and Amax Coal Company. In later years he was a truckdriver, retiring in 2017.

Tom is survived by his sister Cathy (Dale) Frazier of Fairfield, 1 niece, 1 great nephew and niece, and 1 great great nephew and niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Terry, and longtime companion Darlene Mourey.

Per Tom’s wishes he will be cremated, and no services will be held. Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is handling cremation.
