Shirley A. Morris, 77, of Fairfield, passed away at 8:15pm on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital, with her loving daughters by her side.
Shirley was born on August 25, 1945, in Fairfield, to George and Lola (Rosenberger) Xanders. On October 23, 1963, she married Gary Morris, and, together, they raised two daughters and owned Mideast Supply for over 50 years. Shirley was the caretaker of the family, always offering comfort and support to anyone in need. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and enjoyed spoiling her family, including her beloved kitty, Max. Shirley was a member of the Fairfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church and loved her time spent volunteering for the Clothesline in Fairfield.
Survivors include two daughters Stacey Morris of Fairfield, and Alicia (Sally) Morris of Columbus, OH, three grandchildren Will Starks, Sydney Starks, and Molly Medler, four brothers Kenny Xanders, George (Knova) Xanders, Jr., and Eddie (Janice) Xanders all of Fairfield, and Billie Xanders of Oklahoma, one sister Nancy (Jim) Warren of Fairfield, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gary, two brothers Charles Xanders and James Xanders, and two sisters Mildred Henton, and Doris Warren.
Funeral services for Shirley Morris were held at 1pm on Tuesday, November 8th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial following in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation was from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Fairfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
