Shirley Sue Davis

Shirley Sue Davis, 69 of Fairfield passed away at 10:17 PM, Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at her home.  Born on November 18, 1953, in Carmi, IL to Haggard and Ruby (Harvey) Pryor, she married James Davis on September 30, 1972.  Shirley graduated from Frontier Community College in 1991 with a degree in Nursing.  She had worked at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, IN.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 50 years James Davis of Fairfield, daughter Christina Baker of Fairfield, grandchildren Khrysten Baker and Deavon Baker, great grandchildren Sophia Baker, Bentley Baker, and Karsyn Baker, sisters Brenda (Jerry) Brockett of Rhinebeck, NY and Janet (Randy) Hamblin of Newburgh, IN, aunt Delia Black of Twinsburg, OH, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her father Haggard Pryor, mother Ruby Dunn, stepfather Fred Dunn, and son Timothy Davis. 

Shirley will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 11th at 12 PM at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with visitation from 10 AM until the time of service.  Memorials in her honor may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
