RE Carter Obituary

RE Nicholas Carter, 15, of Fairfield passed away tragically on June 5, 2023, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.  He had just completed his freshman year at Fairfield Community High School.  RE was born in Newburgh, IN on September 26, 2007, to Nick Carter and Adrienne (Harsy) Carter.  RE was very active at FCHS, participating in Sportsman’s Club, Football, Wrestling, and FFA.  He loved riding motorcycles and being a big brother to Texal.

RE is survived by his parents- Nick Carter and Adrienne Carter both of Fairfield; brother Texal Morgan of Fairfield; paternal grandparents- Gary and Terri Carter of Fairfield; maternal grandparents- Robert Harsy of DuQuoin, Bobbie and John Sytsma of Murphysboro, and Darlene Tolbert of Harrisburg; lifelong friend- Bronson Rilea; best friend- Payden Meyers; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

RE was preceded in death by his great grandparents- Newt and JoJo, and Pop and Angel.

Funeral Services will be at 12 PM on Friday June 9, 2023, at the First Christian Church in Fairfield with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4-7PM on Thursday June 8th, at the church and on Friday from 10AM until the time of service.  In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the FCHS Sportsman’s Club, Football program, or FFA.
