Michael Shreve Obituary

Micheal William Shreve, age 68, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, December 23, 2022. He was born on September 1, 1954 in Fairfield, Illinois to Bill and Beverly Shreve. Mike married Sharla Mitchell on August 28, 1976, in Fairfield.

Mike loved family, farming and bringing smiles to children on hayrides at the Pumpkin Patch. A life-long farmer, Mike also worked, at Farmway, as a propane delivery driver, and as a rural mail carrier until he took over the family farm full-time in 2003. He was a life-long member at Antioch General Baptist Church and served as deacon for many years.

Mike is survived by his wife Sharla; children Jacob (Stephanie) Shreve, Julie Shreve, Sherri (Sam) Greifzu and Matthew (Ashley) Shreve; 12 grandchildren; three sisters Debbie (Jerry) Webb, Kim (Brad) Owen and Jill (Jeff) Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Dylan Greifzu.

A visitation is planned at Fairfield First Christian Church on Thursday, December 29 from 5PM to 7PM, and funeral services are planned for Friday, December 30 at 10AM at the church with burial in West Antioch Cemetery. 

Memorial donations in Mike’s name may be made to the Fairfield Rural Fire Department.
