Mary Simpson Obituary

Mary Lou Simpson, 93 of Fairfield, died at 6:05 AM, Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Haven on the River in Grayville, IL.  Born on September 30, 1932, in Mt. Erie, IL to Samuel and Hazel (Trotter) Shannon, she was retired from Airtex Products after 30 plus years of service.  Mary Lou was a perpetual optimist and serial entrepreneur, having been the proprietor of several home-based direct sales businesses including Fashion Two Twenty Cosmetics, Home Interior Products, Sarah Coventry Jewelry, and Longaberger Baskets. 

She is survived by 2 sons- Stephen (Rebecca) Simpson of Evansville, IN, and Martin Simpson of Fairfield, 3 grandchildren- Stephen (Molly) Simpson II of Chicago, IL, Samuel (Renee) Simpson serving in the US Air Force in Germany, and Matthew Simpson of Fairfield, 4 great grandchildren- Jonah, Linus, Frank, and Mia, and 2 sisters- Betty Enlow of Mt. Erie and Peggy Watson of Edwardsville, IL.  She was preceded in death by her parents, son Dell Simpson, and 3 sisters- Joyce Madding, Marjorie Hedrick, and Gladys Lambrich.

Funeral services for Mary Lou Simpson will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, December 4th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.   Visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
