Marilyn Ann (Tullis) Church

Marilyn Ann Church, 72, of Carmi, passed away at 8:31am on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at her home. 

Marilyn was born on September 13, 1951, in Fairfield, IL, to the late Norman and Mary (Hammack) Tullis. On November 5, 1989, she married the love of her life, Michael Church, in Corpus Cove, TX.

Marilyn attended Mills Prairie High School and was a bookkeeper and customer service representative for Williamson Enterprises. She loved spending time outdoors in her flower gardens. 

Survivors include her husband of 35 years Mike Church, her grandson Billy Joe McKitrick, her great grandson Brody McKitrick, her siblings Sybil Lowery, Jim Johnson, Elaine Gardner, Gail Nelson, and Alec “Pudge” Tullis, her sister-in-law Diane Matthews, her brother-in-law Thomas Church, along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her son Leslie McKitrick, her parents Norman and Mary Tullis, her brother Dwight “Bunny” Tullis and her father-in-law and mother-in-law Don and Carol Church. 

Funeral services for Marilyn Church will be at 1pm on Monday, August 26th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Shrewsbury Cemetery in Mill Shoals, IL. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Dr. Scranton Memorial Cancer Fund and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
