Marie Danielle (Walker) Bransford

Marie D. (Walker) Bransford, 42, of Fairfield, died at 10:21pm on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. She had worked as a DSP at Rest Care in Olney, IL and at Career Development Center in Fairfield. 

Marie was born on January 21, 1981, in Mt. Vernon, IL, to Danny Walker and Lois (Kincart) Moyer. 

Marie was a foster mother to Jay’sha Greer. She loved her family very much and was a fun-loving person to be around. Marie was a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Fairfield. 

Survivors include her mother Lois (Billie) Moyer of Sims, IL, her foster daughter Jay’sha Greer, and her brother Dallas (April) Walker, both of Fairfield, along with her nieces and nephew, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her father Danny Walker, who just passed away on December 20, 2023, her paternal grandparents Sam and Joyce Walker, and her maternal grandparents Wayne and Wanda Kincart. 

Funeral services for Marie Bransford will be at 12:00pm on Saturday, January 6th, at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to help with funeral expenses and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
