Lucas Wayne Gifford

Lucas Wayne Gifford, 31, passed away on August 8, 2025, at the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville IN. Lucas was born to Dennis Ray Gifford and Evelyn Kay Rowark on June 25, 1944, in Fairfield. Lucas grew up in Fairfield before moving to Evansville as an adult.

Lucas is well known for being a gifted artist and an amazing human. He brought his imagination to life through his incredibly detailed pencil drawn illustrations and music. He shared his talents openly inspiring all who experienced his work, leaving an amazing legacy. Lucas lived with honesty, humor, and humility. He had a stubborn kindness, a refusal to bend for anyone and, in return, he accepted and loved everyone just as they were.

Lucas is deeply loved and missed by his sister Jessica, his nephew Morgan, niece Audrey, his beloved cat Parker, and many close friends.

Lucas was preceded in death by his mother Kay Rowark of Fairfield, and his father Dennis Gifford of Mill Shoals.

Survivors include his sister Jessica Rowark of Fairfield; four brothers- Jeremy Waldrop of Fairfield, Jason Corey of Michigan, Ray Corey of Benton, and Rob Gifford of Peoria IL. He is also survived by his nephew Morgan McGowan and niece Audrey McGowan both of Fairfield, a special cousin Jennifer Simmons of Geff and several other nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Friday August 22, 2025, from 5-7PM at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. Lucas will be cremated per his wishes and laid to rest in a private ceremony at a later date.
