Linda "Lynn" Lou (Duke) Carter-Leek

Linda L. “Lynn” Carter-Leek, 75, of Fairfield, passed away at 10:46pm on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Wabash Senior Living and Rehabilitation in Carmi, IL. She had been a cook at the Enfield Nursing Home. 

Lynn was born on May 24, 1950, in Olney, IL, to Noah and Anna (Lacefield) Duke. She was first married to Bob Carter who preceded her in death in 2003. She later married Vernon Leek who also preceded her in death in 2022. 

Survivors include her sons Bobby (Shirley) Carter of Fairfield and Bertis (Amber) Carter of Princeton, IN, three grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and her sister Hazel Mitchell of Fairfield. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Bob Carter and Vernon Leek, her granddaughter Amanda Tucker, and a brother-in-law Bob Mitchell. 

A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, December 11th, at Shrewsbury Cemetery in Mill Shoals, IL. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. They will be accepted at the graveside service or at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is taking care of arrangements.
