Linda Ann (Grubb) Reeves

Linda Ann Reeves, 71, of Fairfield, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2023. 

Linda was born on March 24, 1952, in Fairfield, to Glenn and Florence (Vaughan) Grubb. After she graduated Fairfield Community High School in 1970, she attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL. She became a Kappa Delta while pursuing her degree in education. 

She taught for over 30 years, the majority of which was in the first grade at Northside Elementary School. 

On December 30, 1994, she married Bruce Reeves at the First Christian Church in Fairfield, where she was a long-time member.  In her retirement, she kept quite busy. She joined a quilting circle, a book club, church choir and PEO. She enjoyed Mexican with her Amicum Alumni (AA) once a month. She spent her free time babysitting her grandkids and running from one game or performance to another. 

Linda is survived by her husband Bruce, a brother Karl Grubb of Cape Canaveral, FL, children Matt (Tracy) Atwood, Nathan (Courtney) Atwood, Laura (James) Beeson, Stephen (Shasta) Reeves, Sarah (Bryan) Pickens, Janes Reeves, and John Reeves, as well as her 20 grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister-in-law Susan Couch Grubb. 

Funeral services for Linda Reeves will be at 1pm on Wednesday, May 31st at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
