Leslie Craig

Leslie Jerome Craig passed away at 8:00 PM on Tuesday, 30 December 2025 while a patient at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. He was 72 years old. Leslie was born on Sunday, 15 March 1953.

 Leslie was preceded in death by his parents Leslie Ewing Craig and Bertha Tadlock Craig; siblings Marvin Craig, Wendell Craig, Clyde Craig, Peggy Rose, Mona McGill and Nova Boyle. Leslie leaves behind his brother Marion Craig of Calhoun, Il; sister Ludenia Anniss of Seneca, SC; sister-in-law Gail Craig of Okeechobee, FL; brothers-in-law Bill Anniss of Seneca, SC and Chuck McGill of Katy, TX; plus, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Leslie never met a stranger. He was a great storyteller. He was compassionate and always ready to help. He gave the shirt off his back to those in need many times.

The family will be holding a graveside memorial service on Saturday, June 20, 2026 @ 10:00 at the Koontz Cemetery on South 45 in Fairfield, IL. Leslie will be buried next to his parents. Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is handling cremation.
