Kenneth Etheridge

Kenneth Etheridge, 91, of Fairfield passed away at 5:40 AM, Tuesday, March 14, 2023, on the skilled care unit at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  Kenneth was born on December 20, 1931, in Big Mound Township, to Virgil and Julia (Book) Etheridge.  He was married to Lila Curd and she preceded him in death on April 30, 2009.

Kenneth owned the Gambles store in Fairfield and was an appliance repairman.  He later was a car salesman for Lear Ford and then Quality Ford.  He was a member of the Barnhill Baptist Church.  His greatest joy was being grandpa to his 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. 

Kenneth is survived by his 3 sons: Philip (Dottie) Etheridge and Steve (Sharon) Etheridge of Mill Shoals, and Greg (Nancy) Etheridge of Fairfield, 5 grandchildren: Andrea (Billy) French of Mill Shoals, Cameron Etheridge and Amanda Etheridge of Denver, CO, Isaac Etheridge of Pittsburg, IL and Hannah Etheridge of Phoenix, AZ, and 2 great grandchildren: Laney and Hunter French.  He was preceded in death by his wife Lila, his parents, brother Moe Etheridge, and sister Phyllis Vaughn.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, March 27th at Maple Hill Cemetery.  There will be no visitation.  Memorials may be given to the Baptist Children’s Home in Carmi and will be accepted at the graveside or the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home.
