Kathryn (Simpson) Etheridge

Kathryn (Kay) Etheridge, 87, of Fairfield passed away at 3:05 PM, Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at her home.  Born in Fairfield on February 14, 1936, to Wallace and Edna (Wood) Simpson, she met the love of her life Moe Etheridge, while attending Fairfield Community High School.  They were married for 57 years. Moe passed away in 2012.  Kay enjoyed working in her flowers and mowing her yard.  She was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. 

Kay is survived by 3 daughters- Angie Lambrich of Geff, Dianna (Steve) Elliott of Fairfield, and Lisa (Danny) Isle of Fairfield, 7 grandchildren- Jason (Kelly) Lambrich of Stanton, CA, Austin Lambrich of Geff, IL, Ashlee (Brian) Spannagel of Burlington, IA, Jenny (Jason) Cox of Mahomet, IL, Andrea (Jake) Shaw of Wayne City, IL, Julia (Tom) Isle of Fairfield, IL and Josh Isle of Fairfield, IL, 8 great grandchildren- Lucas Lambrich, Cody Conover, Bailey Shaw, Ava Shaw, Quinten Cox, Maddy Cox, Ava Isle and Brenna Isle, 2 sisters- Esther Meeks of Fairfield and Reta (Noel) Vaughan of Fairfield, special niece Marilyn Taylor, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, and brothers Tuff Simpson, Harlan “Doc” Simpson, and Edwin Simpson.

Funeral services for Kay Etheridge will be held at 1 PM,  Tuesday, June 20th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers memorials in her honor may be made to the Baptist Childrens Home and will be accepted at the funeral home, or can be mailed to: Baptist Childrens Home,  917 Co Rd 1165 N, Carmi, IL 62821.
