Joyce Marie McKitrick

Joyce Marie McKitrick, 89, of Fairfield passed away at 8:15PM on Thursday December 11, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh IN. She was born in Boyleston on June 10, 1936, to Elroy and Zella (Russell) Shuffett. Joyce had worked at the Uptown Restaurant and was a caregiver for Addis Homecare for 25+ years. She is also a member of the First General Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Joyce is survived by her sons- Kenny (Debbie) McKitrick of Flora and Alan (Jolene) McKitrick of Fairfield; daughter- Christina (Bill) Murphree of Fairfield; nine grandchildren- Shelly (Ryan) Goodman, Joe (Tylar) McKitrick, Shauna Mark, Denisha (Brian) Hutto, and Jason (Nikki) McKitrick all of Fairfield, Billy (Andrea) French of Mill Shoals, Stephanie (Dallas) Shoemaker and Billy Murphree both of Owensville IN, and Bob Murphree of Princeton IN; Fifteen great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law- Cindy McKitrick of Fairfield and Sharon Wodicker of Boyleston; brother in law- Claude Mark of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband- James McKitrick, son- Dennis McKitrick, brother- Wayne Shuffett, sister- Myrtle Vanway, and a foster brother- Donald Sork.

Funeral Services for Joyce will be held at 11AM on Thursday December 18, 2025, at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Wednesday December 17, 2025, at the funeral home.
