James Thomason

Jim (James) Thomason passed away peacefully in his home in Fairfield on August 2, 2023, at the age of 82.  He will be greatly missed for his sense of humor.  Jim was born January 8, 1941, in Fairfield to Loren and Nettie (Morlan) Thomason.  On June 3, 1962, he married Sharon (Cherry) Thomason.  Jim retired from Champion Laboratories in 1997 from maintenance.  He always loved working with his hands and being surrounded by his family. 

Jim is survived by his wife Sharon Thomason of Fairfield, brother Sonny Thomason, 2 children: a daughter Pam (James) Rogers, and a son Robert (Jennifer) Thomason; 6 grandchildren: Ashley, Keshia, Sara, MaKayla, Syanne, and Turner; 8 great grandchildren: Bentley, Brantley, Paisley, Radley, Presley, Rhettley, Ava, and Weston.  He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Doris Thomason, Dorothy Keen, and Helen Talbert, and a brother Hershel Morlan.

Funeral services for Jim Thomason will be held at 1 PM, Monday, August 7th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.  The family requests casual dress.  Memorials in his honor may be made to Northside Baptist Church or the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
