James Richard Guy

James Richard Guy, 89 of Fairfield, passed away at 2:25 AM, Friday, April 25, 2025, at Fairfield Memorial Hospitals Skilled Care Unit.  Born in Fairfield on September 6, 1935, to James H. and Pruilla (Armstrong) Guy, he married Della Smith in 1957.  James was a veteran of the US AirForce, serving from 1954-1958, and was a member of the American Legion Post 176 for 46 years, where he was proud to help flag the cemeteries for Memorial Day for many years.   He retired from Airtex Products where he was a tool and die maker for 42 years.

James is survived by his daughters- Joni (Neil) Austin of Fairfield, Susan (Terry) Werner of Fairfield, and Lori (Scott) Green of Richfield, NC, grandchildren- Ashley (Nick) Tucker, Tyler (Julia) Clark, Laura Salinas, Andrea Legg, Dillon Guy, Kelsey Guy, Jacob Guy and Hannah Guy, great grandchildren- Jaylynn (Dawson) Stewart, Layne Tucker, Landis Hall, Noah Hall, Cadence Guy, Raylee Salinas, and Ronin Salinas, and a great great granddaughter Emmalynn Stewart.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Della, son Rick Guy, and Sister Joyce Berg.

James will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, May 10th at Maple Hill Cemetery, where his ashes will be buried.  In lieu of flowers memorials in his honor may be made to FMH Skilled Care Activity Fund and will be accepted at the graveside or the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.
