Helen (Edwards) Miller

Helen Miller, 85 of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Fairfield, passed away at 7:54 AM, Friday, November 22, 2024, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.  Born on January 3, 1939, in Benton, IL to Ben and Norma (Mintle) Edwards, she was a retired teacher who taught kindergarten at Mill Shoals Grade School and special education at West Side School in Harrisburg. She was also a faithful member of Cornerstone Church in Fairfield.

Helen is survived by her husband Kenneth Miller of Mt. Vernon, daughter Andrea (Anthony) Fisher of Charlotte, NC, sons Chris (Kim) Miller of Fairfield and Philip (Shelli) Miller of Naples, NY, 6 grandchildren- Mariah (Anthony ) Vaughan, Eva Miller, Owen Miller, Ellie Fisher, Claire Fisher, and Lawson Fisher, 2 great grandchildren- Drew and Hallie Vaughan, and baby boy Fisher on the way, 2 brothers- Bennie Edwards and Roger Edwards, and 3 sisters- Gerry Towers, Margie Gust, and Becca Dalby.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Betty.

Funeral services for Helen Miller will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, November 26th at Cornerstone Church in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11 AM until the time of service at the church.  Memorials in her honor may be made to Cornerstone Church and will be accepted at the services or the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home.
