Emilie “Kaye” Borah, 79, of Fairfield, died at 10:03am on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Kaye had worked at the Wayne County Courthouse for 26 years, retiring as the Deputy Circuit Clerk. She was also a member of the Ellen Moore United Methodist Church.
Kaye was born on March 12, 1943, in Mt. Vernon, IL, to Emil and Georgia (Price) Vaughn. On August 16, 1962, after only three months of dating, Kaye and the love of her life, Mickey Borah, eloped in Texas. He preceded her in death in October, 2021.
Survivors include a daughter Kelli Hixenbaugh of Fairfield, a daughter-in-law Shelly Borah of Fairfield, eleven grandchildren Elissa Suddarth, Heather Suddarth (Michael Masterson), Meagan Borah (Nicolas Debacker), Maddison Borah, Taylore Joslin, Tallen Hixenbaugh, Alek Hixenbaugh, Adilynn Hixenbaugh, Emily (Logan) Meriwether, Grace (Jake) Pollard, and Wyatt Borah, five great grandchildren, two sisters Thea (Ron) Gain of Fairfield, and Sheri Puckett of Indianapolis, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse Mickey Borah, four children Chris Borah, Matt Borah, Michelle Borah, and Mike Borah, and a sister Dena Vaughn.
Funeral services for Kaye Borah will be at 1pm on Tuesday, January 17th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
