Diana Fae (Simpson) West

Diana F. West, 70, of Fairfield, passed away at 9:40am on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. She had been a homemaker. 

Diana was born on February 16, 1955, in Fairfield, IL, to Bernard and Ruth (Corder) Simpson. 

Survivors include her children Jason (Jessica) Hollett of Leland, NC, James (Heather) West of Bay St. Louis, MS, and Keara West of Fairfield, three grandchildren, a special nephew Aaron Buchanan, two brothers K.D. (Shirley) Simpson of Fairfield and Lester Simpson of Geff, IL, four sisters Eleanor Venable and Mary Ruth (Larry) Smith both of Fairfield, Karen Singleterry of Mt. Vernon, IL, and Trudy (Victor) Simpson of Burnt Prairie, IL, along with several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Bill Simpson and Ervin Simpson, and one sister Evelyn Byrge. 

Per Diana’s request, her body is being cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, November 14th, at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. There will be no burial at this time. Memorial donations can be made to help with cremation expenses and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
