Della Jane Guy

Della Jane Guy, 86, of Fairfield passed away at 4:54AM on Friday May 19, 2023, at her home.  She was a homemaker. Della was born in Thessalon Ontario, Canada on July 2, 1936, to Douglas and Dorothy (Brown) Smith.  Della was an avid cook and baker, she loved animals of all kinds, and always enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren.  She was a past president of the local American Legion Auxiliary and a member of Post 8 and 40. 

Della is survived by her husband James Guy of Fairfield; son- Daniel (Barbara) Smith of Sault Ste. Marie Ontario, Canada; daughters- Joni (Neal) Austin of Fairfield, Susan (Terry) Werner of Fairfield, and Lori (Scott) Green of Richfield NC; grandchildren- Meaghan (Jason) Kent, Allyson (Owen) Koprash, Ashley (Nick) Tucker, Tyler (Julie) Clark, Laura (Daniel) Salinas, Andrea Legg, Dillon Guy, Kelsey Guy, Jacob Guy and Hannah Guy; great grandchildren- Everett Kent, Rylah Koprash, Jaylynn Tucker, Layne Tucker, Landis Hall, Noah Hall, Cadence Guy, and Raylee Salinas; brother- Dennis (Maureen) Smith of Sault Ste. Marie Ontario, Canada; sister- Dana Hall of Porter Indiana; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Della was preceded in death by her parents, son- Rick Guy, and brothers- David and Dean Smith.

Per her wishes, Della’s body was cremated, and a memorial graveside service will be held at 11AM on Saturday June 10, 2023, at Maple Hill Cemetery.  There will be no visitation, friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
