Debra Lynn (Gottfried) Welty

Debra L. Welty, 63, of Fairfield, died at 10:16pm on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital. 

Debra was born on November 7, 1960, in Lawrence County, IL, to Harlene (Craig) Satterthwaite. On March 31, 2007, she married the love of her life, James Welty. 

Debra had been the service coordinator for Help At Home for 10 years. 

Survivors include her husband Jim Welty of Fairfield, a daughter Krista (Steven) Atteberry of Fairfield, stepsons Justin Welty (Kaitie Hostettler) of Fairfield, and Ryan (Amber) Welty of Hannibal, MO, seven grandchildren Connor Atteberry, Ella Atteberry, Jama Welty, Jonovan Welty, Hunter Welty, Jarrett Welty, and Lily Hostettler, a brother Craig (Pat) Gottfried of Fairfield, five half-brothers and six half-sisters, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

She was preceded in death by her mother, father Thomas Satterthwaite, and an infant brother Michael Gottfried. 

Graveside services for Debra Welty will be at 10am, Tuesday, May 14th at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield. Family and friends are to go directly to the cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm-7pm on Monday, May 13th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorial donations can be made to help with funeral expenses and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
