Danny Max Ewing

Danny M. Ewing, 79, of Fairfield, passed away at 11:05am on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Fairfield Senior Living and Rehab. 

He was born on December 6, 1945, in Wayne County, IL, to Robley Carl and Mabel (Merrit) Ewing. 

Danny had been a carpenter and was also a member of the Midnight Cowboys band, as a guitar player. He was very proud of being their band member. 

Survivors include his brother Carroll (Janet) Ewing of Cascade, IA, along with several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers Glen Ewing, Earl “Bud” Ewing, Carl Ewing, Gene Ewing, Jackie Ewing, and Fred Ewing, and his sister Lou Horn. 

Funeral services for Danny Ewing will be at 1pm on Tuesday, April 22nd, at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, south of Fairfield, with full military rites provided by the Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. The Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
