Charlotte (McGill) Colyer

Charlotte Michelle McGill-Colyer, 52, of Satellite Beach, Florida, passed away on April 24, 2024.  She passed peacefully in Melbourne, Florida surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Michael, her two children, Taryn and Aidan Colyer, as well as father Ronnie McGill, sister Veronica Trogdon, nephew Austin Ramirez, close friend Erin Sullivan, and many close aunts, uncles, and cousins. Charlotte was preceded in death by mother Nancy McGill.

Charlotte was born in Fort Carson, Colorado on July 21, 1971, to Ronnie and Nancy McGill. Charlotte grew up in Fairfield, Illinois, where she attended primary and secondary school. She earned her BA from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Charlotte’s career in the insurance industry processing and reviewing major loss claims led her many places over the years. She worked on several teams processing post-hurricane losses, which is how she fell in love with the Satellite Beach, Florida area, where she ended up living and raising her family.

Funeral services for Charlotte Colyer will be held at 1 PM, Monday, May 6th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, IL with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 11 AM on Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.
