Bruce Stephens

Bruce A. Stephens, 69 of Fairfield, passed away at 8:22 AM, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at his home. Born on December 3, 1954, in Fairfield, to Byron and Esther (Pappas) Stephens, he graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1977 and was a product engineer at Airtex before retiring.  He was also a member of the Wayne City Baptist Church. 

Bruce is survived by his wife Janie Stephens of Fairfield, daughters Megan Stephens of Carbondale and Stephanie (Jason) Greenwalt of Johnsonville, son Kris (Sydney) Raber of Mt. Carmel, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, sister Kaye Schroeder of Lake St. Louis, MO, 8 nephews, 7 nieces, lifelong friend Gary Fleming, and his beloved dog Ruffy.  He was preceded in death by his parents, late wife Tammy (Jones) Stephens, and his sister Janis Waugh.

A private graveside service will he held at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City.  Memorials in his honor may be made to the Wayne City Baptist Church and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, which is handling arrangements.
