Barbara Hohlbaugh

Barbara Hohlbaugh, 83, of Mt Erie, IL passed away very peacefully at 2:42PM on Friday November 8, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville IN. She was born on August 27, 1941, at Allen Hospital in Robinson, IL to Harry and Imo (Miller) Drake. She married Kenneth Hohlbaugh of Mt Erie, IL on December 24, 1961, this incidentally was Harry and Imo’s 25th wedding anniversary. Kenneth is the son of the late Lee and Ethel (Orr) Hohlbaugh of Mt Erie.

During the sixty-two plus years of marriage, Ken and Barb travelled to Hawaii (twice), Europe, and many locations in the USA. Barbara started and owned a retail business in Mandeville, LA which she sold after 20 years of ownership at the time of retirement. Barbara was the CEO of Midwest Transport in Robinson IL for 10 years.

Barbara was charter member of the St. Timothy Methodist Church in Mandeville. LA. She attended the Brown Church in Mt Erie before frailty limited her activities.

Barb and Ken had two sons- Jeff (January 17, 1966 - January 28, 1967) and Kevin (May 7, 1967 – April 20,2020).

 Barbara is survived by her husband, one niece and one nephew, and several cousins and great nephews and great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Mark.

Funeral services for Barbara Hohlbaugh will be held at 2PM on Tuesday November 12, 2024, at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Brown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 12PM until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made in honor of Barbara to an Animal Shelter of the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home.
