Anita R (Tucker) Cushman

Anita R. Cushman, 90, of Fairfield, passed away at 12:10am on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Aperion Care in Fairfield. 

Anita was born on October 11, 1933, in White County, IL, to John and Helen (Thomas) Tucker. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Charles Cushman. 

Anita had been a seamstress at the Fairfield Garment Factory and, had also been the president of the VFW 4535 Auxillary and for District 13. She attended Lebanon North C.P. Church in Fairfield. 

Survivors include her husband Charles of Fairfield, three daughters Dixie (Robert) Locke of Geff, Kim Buchanan and Lisa Melton both of Fairfield, six grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

A graveside service for Anita Cushman will be held at 12pm on Saturday, August 31st, at Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the graveside. Memorial donations can be made to the VFW 4535 Auxillary or Lebanon North C.P. Church and will be accepted at the graveside service or at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
