Ruth Ann Young, 78, of Fairfield, passed away at 8:00pm on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL. She had been a homemaker.

Ruth Ann was born on November 16, 1946, in Mt. Vernon, IL, to Howard and Maxine (Cushman) Lee.

Ruth Ann is survived by her mother Maxine Lee, her son Richard (Janie) Young, and her daughter Melissa Young both of Fairfield, three grandchildren Hillary (Austin) Goodman, Dakota (Lindsay) Young, and Michael (Courtney) Young, six great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, her husband Charles Young, and her sister Ramona Wuebbles.

Funeral services for Ruth Ann Young will be at 1pm on Tuesday, February 25th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Hammack Cemetery in Springerton, IL. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Dr. Scranton Memorial Cancer Fund and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of the arrangements.
