Ruby Mathis

Ruby Mathis, 66 of Cisne, passed away at 1:05 PM, Saturday, September 26, 2026, at her home. Ruby was born on April 17, 1960, in Kansas City, Kansas to Victor and Ruby (White) Pettey. She was a god-fearing woman who loved the lord immensely. She enjoyed spending time with her loved ones and taking care of her fur babies Cyrus and Angel more than anything. Her family was her world.

Ruby is survived by 4 children- James Williams of Cisne, Michael (Julie) Williams of Willisville, IL, Amy (Victor) Banet of Princeton, IN, and Christin (Uriah) Sullivan of Princeton, IN, 12 grandchildren- Cejay Hardy, Destin (Kynzie) Hardy, Kayden Williams, Kara Williams, Cahner Briggs, Boogie Ota, Xavier Forsting, Talan Williams, Cale Banet, Jaelyn Sullivan, Xoey Mathis, Izabella Williams, Caty (Kaleb) Knust, and Kaitlynn (Justin) Woods, siblings Victor “Bud” Linton of Fairfield, Sherry Reynolds of Fairfield, and Cynthia Wallace of Carbondale, and best friend Brenda Case. She was preceded in death by her mother Ruby and sister Lonnie.

Ruby Mathis will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held by her family at a later date. Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is handling cremation.
