Nichelle Renee Dalton, 50 of Fairfield died on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi, IL.  Nichelle had resided the last 3 years at Lynwood Estates Group Home in Salem, IL where she had many friends and loving staff.

There will be no service, but a celebration of life pizza party will be held when her ashes are interred at a later date.  Burial will be in Koontz Cemetery next to her dad.

Nichelle was born February 1, 1974, in Houston, TX to Mike and Debbie Dalton.  She was born with Down Syndrome and loved to sing and dance.  She competed in Special Olympics and was a Texas Gold Medalist in Rythmic Gymnastics.  She loved traveling and riding in the S x S.

She is survived by Debbie Dalton (John Walker) and her Mimi Clara Smith of Fairfield, a sister Stacy (Chris) Brooks of Sandston, VA, a brother Nick (Kayla) Dalton of Olney, IL, many aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous nieces, nephews, and a great nephew.  She was preceded in death by her dad Mike Dalton.

Memorials may be made to Special Olympics or CP Church Upwards Programs and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral, which is handling cremation.
