Mike Best, 69, of Fairfield passed away at 10:05 AM on Wednesday January 18, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh IN.  He worked at Republic Oil Company for 42 years.  Mike was born in Wayne County on February 8, 1953 to James Waldo and Marjorie (Aldrich) Best.  He married Paula Stallings on January 17, 1975.

Mike is survived by his wife of 48 years- Paula Best; Son- Ryan (April) Best; grandchildren- Dylan, Ava, and Caden Best all of Fairfield; brothers- George (Carol) Best of Wayne City, Bill (Abbie) Best of Centralia, and Rick (Lisa Hurd) Best of Flora; sister- Ann (Dave) Holmes of Fairfield; mother in law- Betty Stalling of Fairfield; sister in law- Debbie (Ray) Xanders of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Jamie Michael, and his father-in-law- Junior Stallings.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00AM on Tuesday January 24, 2023, at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5-7PM on Monday January 23, 2023 at the funeral home.
