Michael R. Tipps, 64, of Fairfield, passed away at 8:10pm on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at his home in Geff, IL.  He had been an oilfield laborer for Tipps Oil in Fairfield.

Mike was born on February 5, 1961, to Sharkey and Charlotte (Mason) Tipps.

Survivors include his 20-year companion Brenda Bates of Geff, his sons Johnathan (Tiffany) Tipps, Jason Tipps, and Jerrod Tipps all of Fairfield, his grandchildren Spresalynn and Ari'Ella Tipps and Urijah and Meadow Tipps, his brother Gregory Max (Anita) Tipps of Fairfield, his half-brother Rodney Miller, his special dog Taffy Ann, along with a niece and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Jeremy Tipps, and his brother Sammy Tipps.

Per Michael's request, his body will be cremated. A graveside service will be held at 10am on Monday, August 18th, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Wayne County Humane Society and will be accepted during the graveside service or at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
