Michael Lee Romine, 71, of Sims passed away at 11:04PM on Sunday September 21, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt Vernon. He had been a laborer with the Union working for Wilkin Insulation. Michael was born in Highland Park IL on December 13, 1953, to Houma Lee and Delores Marie (Michela) Romine.

Michael is survived by his wife- Tongsuk Dolly Romine of Sims; sons- Kevin (Jessica Waldrop) Downen of Fairfield, Allen (Corey) Downen of Yorkville IL, and Donnie (Whitley) Downen of Sims; daughter- Michelle Downen of Sims; twenty one grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; twin sister- Carol Lee (Donald Beard) Romine of Florida, and sister Alice Christine(Chris) Romine-Peterson of Oak Ridge TN.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, son- Ronnie Lee Downen, and grandson- Nicholas Carrol Downen.

Per Michael's wishes, his body will be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held from   5-7PM on Tuesday September 30, 2025, at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home.
