Martha J. Mason, 75, of Fairfield, died at 3:50pm on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel, IN.

Martha was born on July 25, 1948, in Hardin County, IL, to Benton and Opal (Anderson) Tyree. On June 8, 1972, she married the love of her life, Lonnie D. Mason.

Martha was a homemaker and also a faithful member of the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Fairfield.

Survivors include a son Tim Mason of Fairfield, a daughter Stephanie Penrod of Belle Rive, IL, five grandchildren Tyler Penrod, Bradley Penrod, Kelby Penrod, Jayla Mason, and Lucas Reed, two great grandchildren James Dale Mason and Kole Mason Penrod, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lonnie, two brothers Ben Tyree, Jr, and William Tyree, and three sisters Betty Beckel, Ruthie Johnston, and Bernice Cralley.

Funeral services for Martha Mason will be at 1pm on Wednesday, April 24th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield with burial to follow in Koontz Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. The Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
