Marla Joy Hargraves

Marla Joy Hargraves, 82 of Fairfield passed away at 7:47 AM, Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN. Born January 29, 1944, in Sims, IL to Herschel and Irene Legg, she was a caring and supportive lady to all throughout her life and a lover of animals. She was raised in Sims, IL, and graduated in the Wayne City High School Class of 1961 as Valedictorian, then went on to graduate Cosmetology School and received her A.A.S. in Business Administration from Fairfield Community College. She worked for the Wayne County Abstract Company 20 years then in Admitting for Fairfield Memorial Hospital for 31 years. She was also Secretary at the Northside Baptist Church for many years.

Marla is survived by her husband of 63 years, James Hargraves, son, Tim Hargraves of Fairfield, and grandson, Tyler Hargraves, in Owensboro, KY. She was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Legg, her mother, Irene Legg, and her father, Herschel Legg.

Marla Hargraves will be cremated, and no formal services will be held. Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home is handling cremation.
