James H. Brown, 83 of Fairfield passed away at 4:57 PM, Sunday February 11, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN.  Born on April 19, 1940, in St. Louis, MO to Harold and Mary (Hoffee) Brown, he and his family owned and operated Brown Chevrolet for many years.

Jim is survived by his wife Gail Brown of Fairfield, daughters Leah Brown of Eugene, OR and Michelle (Brad) Richards of Fairfield, granddaughters Madeline (Colton) Land of Fairfield and Meredith Richards of Fairfield, great grandson Cameron James Land, sister Dena (Bob) Young, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Caleb Richards, and a sister Betty Rutledge.

Funeral services for Jim Brown will be held at 1 PM, Monday, February 19th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, with visitation from 11 AM until the time of service.  A private burial will be conducted at Maple Hill Cemetery.  Memorials in his honor may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
