Carol “Will” Willard Braddock, 83, of Johnsonville, IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7th, 2026, at Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon, IL.

Will was born on December 29th, 1942, at home, in Keenes, Illinois.

Will was a lifelong farmer and master mechanic who took great pride in his work and his ability to fix just about anything. He was a hardworking man who believed in the value of a good day’s work and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Faith was also an important part of Will’s life. He was a devoted Christian and faithful member of Holiness Church in Fairfield, where he found fellowship, purpose, and community. His faith was reflected in the way he lived his life and cared for those around him.

Will shared 60 years of marriage with his adoring wife, Elsie (Jackson) Braddock. Together, they built a life centered around family, hard work, faith, and love.

Survivors include his two daughters, Karen Newman and husband, Bill Newman of Wayne City, IL, and Camella “Cam” Blevins of Eureka, MO, his two grandchildren, Aaron Newman and wife, April Newman, and Kyrstin Saraber and husband, Gerard Saraber; two great-grandchildren, Logan Newman and Mackenzie Newman, his siblings, Sandy Lowery of Evansville, IN and Mike Williams of Newburgh, IN, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will treasure his memory.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie, and his parents, Betty Ruth (Garrison) Williams and Willard Braddock.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, mechanical know-how, devotion to his faith, and, most importantly, his love for his family. The lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and the memories he created will live on through the generations who knew and loved him.

His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue in the family he loved so dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 12PM on Saturday, September 12th, at the Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Garrison Temple Cemetery, north of Keenes, IL. Visitation will be from 11AM until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to help with funeral expenses and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
